Founder/Co-Owner Greg Miceli came to Nicaragua for dental work over a year and a half ago, discovering an incredible new world with many opportunities to be created & connections to be made. Two days after arriving in Nicaragua, the whole world got turned upside down with a complete lockdown and pandemic. He decided to stay here in Nicaragua & complete the dental work anyway. 

With over $40,000 in procedures & surgeries needed back home in Tampa Bay, FL, he left the US for the 1st time with a few friends to visit Nicaragua. After several outrageous quotes from different dentists in Florida, he swung into a dental office here in Nicaragua on a whim. Walking out 20 minutes later with a quote 1/3 of the cost, creative juices & ideas started flowing. 

After some research and studying, the only other competitive option in the "Travel Dentistry' realm, was Cancun Dental! Shortly after, Destination Dentistry was created, a marketing strategy was established, & then the business was launched. Also part of Destination Nica, we plan to raise all tourism awareness not just dental tourism here in Nicaragua, but for all aspects of travel. (Vacations, Destination Weddings, Honeymoons, Retreats, Special Events, & More!)

July 10th, 2021 Mariel and a friend took the trip to Nicaragua! With easy systems in place, open communication between the Dentists/Patients & Destination Nica, we were able to get things locked in and set!

This is how it works:

First, you must send a recent quote (within 3 months) and recent X-rays. Once you've sent them via email, Greg@DesinationNica.com, we can start the process for you. Within 2-3 days we will resend you a dental quote back, & schedule you a one on one video consultation with the preferred Dentist. 

Once you've gotten that done, we will then connect you with our official travel agents to secure your travel info & dates. Once those two things are done, we can give you a recommended list of places for you & your family to stay. Along with many different things to do around Nicaragua!

Depending on how long your procedures will take, will depend on how much free time you will have to enjoy your vacation. Every case, every situation, every story will be different of course but we have got the foundation laid out for you.

Mariel suffers from (CVS Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome) an "invisible disease" that after 10 years affects & erodes your teeth & gums. This means you have to brush more often, are acceptable to other diseases easier, & could possibly even have teeth fall out. With her loss of confidence, ridiculously high quotes from several dentists over $45,000,  she was determined to get help & get her confidence back in her smile!

Being friends with Founder/Co-Owner Greg Miceli for over a decade & following his journey on Facebook/Instagram, Mariel decided as a last resort to take a trip out to Nicaragua. Skeptical as anyone should be, the quote she received was literally more than 1/3 of the cost for the dental work, AND the whole vacation COMBINED! After a few bumps getting here to San Juan Del Sur, with the pandemic making things a little challenging for travelers, her and her friend finally made it to Nicaragua. 

With 2 weeks to spare away from work, family, & friends our team managed to get it all done for her! The Dentists put in extra work (almost 6-8 hour days!) and had cleared their schedules to accommodate Mariel & her procedures. (Including the rest time between) We cannot thank our dental partners & teams enough for helping with such a smooth transition & incredible job. Mariel had 28th teeth (EVERY TOOTH IN YOUR MOUTH) worked on from getting crown veneers to fillings, you name it! 

After Mariel had all of her dental work done, she had a day or two to recover & visit some cool places around Nicaragua. We stopped by Volcano Masaya, went to almost every beach north & south to San Juan Del Sur, & even went up to the Christ of Mercy Statue, one of the World's Largest which is also here in San Juan Del Sur!
