Destination Nica ("we," "us," "our") operates the website destinationnica.com and provides relocation concierge, shipping, and referral services for expats moving to Nicaragua. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you contact us via WhatsApp, submit a form on our website, or request a shipping quote, we may collect:

  • Contact information: name, email address, WhatsApp number
  • Service details: the service you're interested in (shipping, property, legal, insurance, transport, dentistry, weddings, tours), any message or details you provide
  • Shipping details: package descriptions, weight, declared value, delivery address (when requesting a shipping quote or tracking a shipment)
  • Technical information: your country (from Cloudflare headers, not IP tracking), the page you submitted from, and any UTM parameters from the link you followed

We do not collect payment card information. All payments are collected in person at pickup — we do not process online payments.

How we use your data

  • To respond to your inquiry: route your message to the right team member, follow up on your request, provide quotes and service information
  • To coordinate services: when you engage a service (shipping, legal referral, property viewing, etc.), we use your contact details to coordinate with our partner network on your behalf
  • To send you updates: shipment status notifications, appointment reminders, and follow-up messages related to services you've requested
  • To improve our service: we track which pages generate inquiries to understand what information is most useful

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party tracking scripts or advertising pixels on our website.

Who we share your data with

We share your information only when necessary to provide the service you've requested:

  • GoHighLevel (GHL): our CRM platform, where lead and inquiry data is stored for follow-up and coordination. GHL is a US-based SaaS platform with standard data protection practices.
  • CORE Insurance Management: only when you specifically request an insurance referral. We share your name and contact details so CORE can provide a quote.
  • Partner brokers and service providers: only when you specifically request a property referral, legal referral, transport arrangement, dental coordination, or other service. We share the minimum information needed for the partner to serve you.

We do not share your data with any other third parties. No data brokers, no advertisers, no analytics companies.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal information. It tells us aggregate page views and referral sources — nothing more.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. The only cookie we may set is dn_locale, which remembers your language preference (English or Spanish) so you don't have to select it every visit. This is a functional cookie, not a tracking cookie.

Data storage

Your data is stored in Cloudflare D1 databases (SQLite at the edge) and in our GHL CRM. Cloudflare infrastructure spans multiple regions; data may be stored in the US or EU depending on Cloudflare's region availability. GHL data is stored in the US.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as needed to provide the service you've requested, plus up to 7 years for business records purposes. You can request deletion at any time — see "Your rights" below.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Contact us via:

Children

Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. We won't make material changes without notice.
